Favorite Museums
My 5 favorite museums at the moment are:
1. MFA - https://www.mfa.org
The MFA always has some cool exhibits. I went a week or two ago and right now they have a few exhibits for contemporary photographers/cinematographers which are definitely worth checking out!
2. Bedrock Gardens - https://www.bedrockgardens.org
I don't know if this qualifies as a 'museum', but it's an outdoor sculpture park showcasing a lifetime's worth of work. I would definitely recommend checking this out, it's right in Lee.
3. Portland Museum of Art - https://www.portlandmuseum.org
PMA is free if you're under 21, and it's a great stop on any city trip. Right now they have an interesting Winslow Homer exhibition.
4. Sarah Orne Jewett House - https://www.historicnewengland.org/property/sarah-orne-jewett-house-museum-and-visitor-center/
The Sarah Orne Jewett House is right in my hometown (South Berwick, Maine). It was the home of writer Sarah, and her family in the 1800s. It's one of the only houses to survive from the 1700s, and the rooms have really pretty wallpaper!
5. Currier Museum of Art - http://currier.org
The Currier Museum mainly showcases European and American art, and always has something neat on display!
